Replacing Ian Schrager's short-lived Chinese restaurant Wakiya, Danny Meyer has given the Gramercy Park Hotel a far more appealing venue with Maialino. Meaning literally "Little Pig", the menu of rustic Italian favorites includes a flawless Spaghetti Carbonara ($16) as well as whole suckling pig ($72) which is enough to serve three. The brightly-lit dining room is elegant but comfortable with rustic wood and leather accents. For more casual cocktails, small plates and sandwiches, Bar Maialino serves breakfast, lunch and dinner.
